Charlotte has moved on from Bear and is in love with a new man. Hurrah!
Charlotte Crosby tells Lucie Cave her new fella has met the parents – and she’s fallen for him
At last, we can all breathe a sigh of relief that Charlotte Crosby has dumped her past with Stephen Bear well and truly in the bin. Just a few hours after her ex went on an Instagram rant accusing her of owing him money (something she denies and is now taking legal action over, so we can’t chat about it), she tells us that she’s already in love with her new man of four months, Joshua Ritchie – despite the fact he hasn’t said it back.
Speaking to heat in a posh London hotel while filming for The Charlotte Show, she admits, “I said it to him, but it was a bit embarrassing because he didn’t say it back! He told me he wasn’t ready to say it yet. But you’ve got to admire his honesty – at least I’ll know he means it!”
But, in a sure sign things are getting serious, Josh met Charlotte’s parents Letitia and Gary for the first time last week. “It was about time things started moving in the right direction,” laughs Charlotte. “I thought if he met me mam and dad, it might move the relationship on a bit quicker! I was nervous, but everyone else was fine.
“Josh went down a treat. They really liked him and said he was a very genuine, nice boy. Dad and him were talking about football, but me mam was so drunk and was saying some odd things. At one point, she told him, ‘Be careful, Charlotte is very unpredictable.’ And I said, ‘Mam! I can’t believe you said that.’ I think she meant to say I could have a bit of a temper. He’s probably never going to love me now!”
The whole incident was filmed for The Charlotte Show, for which Charl says, “There’s nothing off limits,” before assuring us that, “There’s absolutely no sex on camera – it’s not Geordie Shore.”
But does she worry she’s rushing into things with Josh? “Not at all,” she says. “I didn’t find it hard trusting Josh. I don’t let my past relationships affect me – I wear my heart on my sleeve. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, but if it does, then it was a good risk to take… But he’s got a week to tell me he loves me back, or that’s it!” The Charlotte Show debuts on MTV on 28 March
