Sam: ‘Nelly’s set for stardom’

The star on her adorable niece and cheese on toast

- Charlotte oliver

Move aside, Kardashians: the Faiers sisters are hot on your Louboutin heels. Sam, 27, and Billie, 28, have gone from being single girls down the Sugar Hut on TOWIE to having their very own reality show. And halfway through series three of Sam & Billie Faiers: The Mummy Diaries, we’re hooked. This year has seen more dramz than ever, with Billie, her fiancé Greg Shepherd, and their tots Nelly and Arthur sharing equal billing with Sam and her brood. While we’re desperate to get the gossip when we meet Sam, first there’s the small matter of cheese on toast...

on the show, Paul complained that the cheese on toast you’d made him was soggy. have you been practising?

Do you know what? It’s really funny. I had a photo shoot at home the other day and I made everyone cheese on toast for lunch. One of the models said, “This is the best cheese on toast I’ve ever had.” I think I was just having an off day. But there was a film crew there, I had a newborn baby, baby Paul was hanging off my back, and you want the cheese on toast to be perfect? I was just like, “Make it yourself!”

does big Paul cook at all?

No, he doesn’t. But he’ll do everything else around the house – sort the garage, rubbish tip runs, shopping…

You surprised people by admitting that you and Paul don’t share a bed...

When I was in my last trimester with Rosie, I was going to the toilet like ten times in the night, so I slept in the spare room. Then, when I had Rosie, I stayed there. I co-sleep with her and breastfeed, and baby Paul sleeps with big Paul. And we’re all getting sleep. But it doesn’t matter anyway, because when we sleep in a bed together, we’re both on opposite sides. He’d rather sleep by himself, anyway – he’s not a snuggler.

everyone’s loving billie and Greg. is there any rivalry between you?

Not really, we’ve always been supportive.

Me and Paul are so different. Some people can relate to how we live – we’re laid-back, we work together – or they can relate to Billie and Greg, bickering as they do. And I prefer sharing the screen time, it takes the pressure off us a bit. Nelly is a breakout star – will she get her own spin-off series? She’s hilarious! I think she’s set for stardom. I told Billie she’s got to get her into some sort of drama school. Another big character is Paul’s mum, Gaynor. We’ve seen her have a few clashes with your mum Sue... They actually get on really well, but they’re both completely different. Gaynor is such an amazing nan to both Paul and Rosie. She is who she is and she’d never change for no one, especially not for the cameras. You’ve spoken about being the last non-knightley in the family. When’s the proposal coming? I feel like it’s not really my call – Paul’s the one who’s asking. Obviously, I really do want to get married, it’s every girl’s dream, but I’m not in a rush. And my sister’s getting married next year, so I want the attention to be on Billie.
