Nicole Appleton squares up to Lily Allen over those Liam Gallagher romp allegations

She’s never ever felt so low

There’s one thing we’re sure of in the showbiz world: wherever Liam Gallagher goes, mayhem will probably follow. And that’s certainly the case when it comes to Nicole Appleton vs. Lily Allen. Last week, the former All Saints star tweeted, “Our paths will cross @lilyallen!” sending the world into a frenzy to discover the reason behind the subtle threat.

Buckle up, this one gets messy. Back in 2009, when Nicole and Liam had been married for just 17 months, Lily and Liam were believed to have visited the mile-high club while flying to a Japanese music festival. Although Lily allegedly denied anything had happened to Nicole, it seems the truth is about to become public knowledge.

Lily, 32, is said to be releasing a tell-all autobiography, which will reportedly expose the details of the mid-air tryst – and Nicole ain’t happy about it. “Nicole had always suspected something had happened – she’s no stranger to backstabbers,” a source close to Nicole tells heat. “And now that she feels like Lily is rubbing it in her face, she can’t just sit by and watch Lily cash in on the story.”

Just a year after the rumoured Lily episode, Liam had an affair with a journalist that led to the birth of his daughter Gemma in 2012. Liam and Nicole – who have 16-year-old son Gene together – separated a year later.

And while our insider tells us that Nicole “didn’t trust Liam as far as she could throw him”, it hasn’t stopped her wanting to get one over on Lily. “Nicole feels sorry for Lily that she has had to stoop so low, and thinks she’s just using the story as publicity for her book,” our source says. Although Liam and Lily have denied anything happened, the insider adds, “Nicole’s out for revenge – she wants Lily blacklisted from future events she’s attending, and to be cut off from any mutual friends.”

Nicole, 43, is still recovering from her time in the headlines alongside Paddy Mcguinness. The pair were spotted looking close on a night out together and days later, Paddy’s wife Christine was pictured in tears arguing with her husband.

Christine, 30, has since said she is “working things through” with her husband, but seemed to take particular delight in last week’s revelations. She posted a quote on Instagram that read, “It’s called Karma and it’s pronounced ha, ha, ha.” Miaow.
