‘My tattoos turned me into a real man’

Mr Andre on life as a dad and movie star

-

As a proud dad of four – Junior, 12, and Princess, ten, with ex-wife Katie Price, and Amelia, four, and 18-month-old Theo with doctor wife Emily Macdonagh – Peter Andre knows a thing or two about parenting. But Pete, 45, is also about to star in his first Hollywood movie, where he recently revealed a shock new look…

What’s your best parenting hack for helping your kids

to all get along together?

It’s never easy, but I think doing things as a family is very important. We were in Somerset for the weekend and we all went for a walk. Things like that are great because you’re all together and you’ve got no phones, so you’re just focused on each other.

Who’s the best at getting around you?

I’d have to say both the girls. I always thought I’d grow up and have boys and we’d go fishing. And now those two girls have got me wrapped [around their fingers].

What’s the biggest lie you’ve told them?

Little Amelia hates the crust on bread, so the other day, we told her if she ate them, her hair would go curly like Princess’. Millie ate all the crusts and then five minutes later, she goes, “Dad, is my hair curly yet?” I had to tell her it’s going to take a little more than just one time… and then she can have a mysterious curl!

What do Junior and Princess want to be when they’re older?

Junior wants to act – he’s just got an acting scholarship. I’ve just done my first role in America and I’ve already introduced him to the director. But I want him to finish school first. Princess wants to be a nun, which is great… Nah, she doesn’t. I wish! She wants to be a vet or a teacher. I’m like, “You can teach the other nuns.”

We can’t wait for your film debut in The Inheritance. We were shocked when we saw the pictures of you on set…

Did you like them? I actually really liked that look. I didn’t want to take those tattoos off. I even had one up my neck. The piercing really hurt my lip, it killed. It was a double piercing.

Would you get them done in real life?

Emily didn’t like them, but they did turn me into a real man. I was like, “Hey, I’m cooking a steak tonight. I’m just going to go out and chop some wood.”
