Sheridan’s engagement: ‘It will end in tears’
Star’s friends don’t trust her new fiancé
Sheridan Smith has had something of a tumultuous love life. And when it was revealed she had got engaged last week, it’s fair to say people were pretty shocked – especially as she has only been dating 28-year-old Jamie Horn for the last three months.
When Sheridan performed recently at the Royal Albert Hall, she ‘accidently’ let slip that she had a new man, telling the crowd, “That [song] was my fella’s favourite. Oh, did I not tell you? I’ve got a fella. Don’t act so f***ing surprised, thank you. I know, you think it won’t last… it probably won’t.”
Well, it seems they’re hoping it will last, as reports say Jamie has given Sheridan a £10,000 ring. The couple are said to have met on the dating app Tinder, and to have already moved in together and be planning a two-week break to celebrate their engagement.
But sources say, “Friends and family are very worried about Sheridan, and think she may have rushed into this – she doesn’t really think things through when it comes to love. They can’t help but wonder if Jamie has an ulterior motive, and whether it will all end in tears.”
Sheridan was first pictured with Jamie only around a month ago, and had previously been spotted cuddling up to a mystery man while on holiday in January. After Sheridan’s last ‘official’ break-up – she split from model Graham Nation last November, and had a fiery relationship with
Hollyoaks actor Greg Wood – friends were concerned about her wellbeing. And the Cilla star is still giving her friends sleepless nights.
Sheridan broke down in tears twice while performing at her show last week, telling the audience that she’d chosen to sing Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy, “Because it’s been quite well documented that I lost my mind for a couple of years.”
Sheridan has acknowledged her chequered love life, telling her audience, “It’s true – I’ve had a lot of rats, kissed a few frogs. I keep going back for more – don’t know what’s wrong with me. Why do I keep going back for more?”
