Scott: ‘I’ll make Sofia my wife’

To be fair to them, they’ve lasted a whole year now – roughly 11 months longer than we expected – so you can understand why Scott Disick and Sofia Richie want to take their relationship to the next level. And having been so frequently rebuffed in the past by his ex, Kourtney Kardashian (who rejected his many proposals on camera), we’re told that Scott is desperate to put a ring on his girlfriend’s finger. Luckily for him, sources say 19-year-old Sofia’s dying to say, “I do”.
“Kourtney never wanted to get married, so this time, Scott wants to make sure that the woman he loves becomes his wife,” an insider close to the 34-year-old reality star tells heat. “They haven’t really talked about marriage, but Scott’s confident Sofia will say yes, and now he’s talking to different designers to find a ring that suits her. It’ll definitely be big.”
According to our insider, the model has actually been dying for a proposal, but has avoided broaching the subject as she “didn’t want to scare Scott away, so she’s really going to be thrilled”.
The pair have been inseparable ever since they were first spotted cuddling on a yacht in Cannes last May. Last week, they were pictured taking Scott’s two older kids Mason, eight, and Penelope, five, for a beach stroll in Malibu (we’re assuming his youngest son, three-year-old Reign, got a better offer). Our insider says, “They’ve already talked about having children together, and while she’s definitely not ready to be a mother yet, she’s great with his kids.”
Rest assured, we only see happy times ahead for these two soulmates. But – at the risk of pissing on their parade – we have a few niggling concerns. Firstly, what will Scott’s baby mama Kourtney have to say? The 39 year old – who herself has a toy boy in the shape of 24-yearold boyfriend Younes Bendjima – has reportedly taken offence at Sofia spending so much time with her kids. Then, of course, there’s the wedding do itself. Given that Sofia’s dad Lionel Richie hasn’t held back in his disapproval of their union – calling it “just a phase” – we can’t quite see him happily skipping beside her down the aisle. And don’t even think about trying to play one of his songs during the first dance.
