Look out, Oz, Geordie Shore’s Holly and Sophie are out to get mortal

The Geordie lasses had a thing or two to teach Down Under

-

They both say they’re in very different places to when they were last on Geordie Shore. While Holly Hagan is happily loved-up with boyfriend Jacob (who doesn’t appear on the show) and feeling more confident than ever before, Sophie Kasaei is enjoying life on the Toon as a single girl for the first time in six years, after splitting from long-term boyfriend Joel Corry.

But as they prepare to return to our screens for the reality show’s upcoming 17th series – which will see them bring their Geordie carnage Down Under – both girls reveal that there’s one thing that hasn’t changed: their ability to get absolutely mortal… So, how did you both find filming this season?

Holly: It was so different – I actually had a good time! I used to be a miserable bitch. But I felt like happy Holly again, someone who’s more confident.

Sophie: We were allowed to talk more about ourselves and our lives. This time, I’m single and I’ve lost two stone – life is totally different to what it was like a year ago.

Sophie, how did you find getting back into the dating game?

Sophie: I was so nervous. Obviously, I don’t want to come across as this crazy, slaggy girl, and I never thought I’d be the one crying over boys. I lose my head – I even broke a finger over boys in the house! And the tables have turned, because Chloe [Ferry] and Holly are in relationships. Obviously, I’m never going to take relationship advice from Chloe, but I was lucky to have Holly there. She knows us better than anyone, so I’d be asking her, “Holly, do I even fancy this boy?” She’d be like “Nope, don’t get with him.”

Could the Aussies keep up with you on a night out?

Holly: Absolutely not. I think they found us a bit of a shock to the system. Of course, you can only try your best to teach people how to drink – but I think, really, you’re born with it.

Sophie: When they drink, it’s beers around the barbecue – but we’re drinking to get absolutely rat-arsed and not remember our own names. Our job is to go out and have a great time. We’re pros at it, so it was a bit of a culture difference.

Geordie Shore series 17 arrives on Tuesday 15 May at 10pm on MTV
