Meghan’s wacky wedding workout revealed
How Reformer Pilates has helped hone her bridal body
Like every bride, Meghan Markle will want to look her best on her big day. So, she’s no doubt been hitting the super-exclusive KX private members health club in Chelsea, where Harry is also a member. Luckily, the club offers her go-to workout from LA – Reformer Pilates – which Meghan says is, “The best thing for your body”.
What on earth is it?
Practised on a reformer bed (which looks a bit like a torture device), Reformer Pilates increases the intensity and movement of traditional Pilates. The machine allows you to slide and pull, which reaches muscles you wouldn’t normally be able to. The pulleys on the machine also create resistance to isolate muscle groups for a super-effective workout. A 60-minute class burns about 400 calories and, as well as making you less prone to injuries, it helps sculpt long, lean muscles. Why is Meghan a fan? Meghan has been practising this workout for years at Pilates Platinum in LA with founder Heather Dorak (who is also rumoured to be one of her bridesmaids). “Your body changes immediately,” Meghan says. “Give it two classes and you will see a difference. Heather is amazing – as an instructor and as a friend. She is inspiring in every way and the people in the class are cool, unpretentious and motivating –it’s a testament to Heather’s energy.” And she’s not the only celeb fan – Miranda Kerr, Vanessa Hudgens and Rochelle Humes are devotees, too.
