Lisa’s fresh start in LA

Ant’s estranged wife has big plans

- Elizabeth Ryan

Everyone knows there are three stages to any brutal break-up: denial, anger and – most importantly – a major revenge makeover. Lisa Armstrong has certainly been through the first two since splitting from her husband of 11 years, Ant Mcpartlin, in January. Now, insiders say the star is ready to fully embrace that final stage, with the help of a million-dollar makeover.

“Lisa is fed up with wallowing in self-pity and has vowed to get her self-confidence back,” says an insider close to the Strictly make-up artist, who was pictured hiking and shopping last week while on holiday in LA. “She’s planning a total makeover and wants to change her style, get fit and show Ant what he’s missing. She put herself second for so many years supporting Ant, and now he’s left her, she’s determined to get her groove back.” And that means a whole shopping list of self-care planned for the 41 year old.

We’re told, “She’s going to buy a whole new wardrobe, have expensive spa treatments and is speaking to celebrity trainers like Gunnar Peterson. She’s also checking out the exclusive Equinox gym, where the likes of Khloé and Kim Kardashian work out. Lisa’s told friends she wants a full LA makeover, and it’s all going to be at the expense of Ant and their divorce settlement. She feels she more than deserves a fabulous new life after everything he put her through.”

Things have certainly taken a turn for the bitter between the former couple over the last few weeks. After the news broke that Ant, 42, was dating their former PA, Anne-marie Corbett, 42, Lisa went on a Twitter rampage, liking tweets that called Anne-marie a “gold-digger” and a “leech”. Lisa has finally removed her wedding ring and sources say the pair are now only communicating through lawyers as they go into battle over their £62million fortune. “Lisa has said she’ll be damned if she’s going to let Ant and his new romance ruin her,” says a friend. “She doesn’t want to stay bitter. For the first time ever, she’s putting herself first, and she’s excited about her new life.”

It’s a new life that could feature a lot more sunshine, as friends tell us, “LA has been a wonderful change of scenery, and Lisa is saying it could be the perfect place for her to have a fresh start. She has a lot of British friends out there. She still wants to work in the UK, but would love to make LA her second home, and spend an extended period of time out there next year. She’d love to buy herself a luxury home with a pool in the Hollywood Hills.

“Ant has put Lisa through the wringer this past year, but she’s coming out of the other side and looking forward to the next chapter. If Ant can move on, then so can she.” n
