Let’s be honest: we all enjoy the occasional holiday splurge, but that means ordering a piña colada from the fancy hotel down the road from our apartment. So, it’s something of a leap to relate to Kourtney Kardashian’s recent family vacay in Italy – which, we’re told, racked up a whopping $500k bill for things such as private jets, yachts and 24-hour security protection. Basically, she lived la dolce vita like some kind of Roman Emperor – but without the animal sacrifice and orgies.
“It was an eye-wateringly expensive trip,” a source close to Kourtney – who kicked off her epic Italian Odyssey with boyfriend Younes Bendjima last month – tells heat. “The costs kept going up and up, but Kourt didn’t care. She figured she’s worth it. And, of course, Younes didn’t pay a penny – it was all on her.”
Kourtney and her 25-year-old beau initially set sail on their indulgent yachting holiday alone, before being joined by her three kids – Mason, eight, Penelope, six, and Reign, three – on the Amalfi Coast, before the whole family returned to the States last week. They were also joined by their matriarch and money bag holder, Kris Jenner, who is just as much a fan of the finer things as her eldest daughter. The insider adds, “Kourt had an entire new bespoke swimwear range made, with matching little pieces for Penelope. She also insisted on flying Kris out, even though her mum is more than capable of paying for it herself. Everyone was eating fresh seafood every day and the Champagne bill alone came in at $70,000.”
The 39 year old didn’t hold back in flaunting her five-star holiday to the masses, which perhaps unsurprisingly saw her come under fire for being far too flashy on Instagram. Some followers even suggested she was risking a similar scenario to her sister Kim’s Paris jewellery heist. But Kourtney was unfazed. “She was on a mission to treat herself
and everyone she loves,” we’re told. “She splashed out another $40k on extra security. The way she sees it, she’s worked hard since her early twenties to earn what she has now. Plus, she wasted too much time watching Scott [Disick, her ex] spend their money on cars and Rolexes without giving her a second thought. She feels she finally has the life she always wanted and she refuses to feel guilty about showing it off.”
