Cheryl is wasting no time getting back on her feet after splitting from Liam Payne

She’s back, after months of heartbreak… Small caption to go in here

It’s been a tough few months for Cheryl, following her drawn-out split from baby daddy Liam Payne, but last week she proved she was back on form. Attending Simon Cowell’s annual Syco summer party, Chezza was the star of the night, and we’re told she wants everyone to know just how happy she is.

“She was really working the room – she had a smile on her face the whole night and seemed really determined to prove to everyone that she was doing great,” an insider tells heat. “She was laughing and joking and making a big effort to get back into Simon’s inner circle. She wants to show people that she’s fun, outgoing and sexy, following all the negative stuff about the split – she hates how she’s been portrayed as someone who can’t hold on to a man, and who hates going out.”

Cheryl, 35, and Liam, 24, were together for two-and-a-half years and are parents to 16-month-old son Bear. As heat told you last week, there had been problems between them for the past six months and their break-up was just a matter of time. After laying low to avoid all the speculation, we’re now told Cheryl feels free again and wants to start having some fun. “The truth is, there isn’t really a lot to get over in terms of the split – because it was so drawn out, they didn’t really have feelings for each other by the time they finally broke up,” the source continues.

“It won’t be long before both of them are ready to move on. Everyone’s wondering which one of them will be linked to someone else first. In some ways, Cheryl is dreading being criticised if she gets together with another man, but she’s also determined that it won’t be her sitting around with everyone feeling

sorry for her. Plus, she knows that finding someone new may be the best way to move forward – she feels some male attention would be quite nice right now. She has no intention of bringing a man into Bear’s life, but no one would criticise her for wanting a bit of flirtation.”

We’re told Chezza also used the party to network as she gears up to release her comeback album. “She made sure she talked to lots of people who could help her in the music industry,” we’re told “She also wants Simon Cowell to get behind her and her music again in order to help make this album a huge success. So, she was really trying to be as fun and sassy as possible.”

Cheryl herself has spoken about the album and says she can’t wait for people to hear it, especially as she’s written it with BFF and former Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts. “Nicola and I wrote every track together. It’s been great working with one of my best friends, but I’m really proud of the album and excited for people to hear the new music,” she said last week. “It’s pretty much finished. At this stage, we’re deciding what will be the first single. We’re choosing between three songs, but that’s quite a nice problem to have. Thankfully, I’m not looking at it, saying, ‘Oh God, all this work and we don’t have a hit record’. I think we do.” She also revealed Bear was a fan, saying, “He has heard my music and recognises his mum’s voice, but doesn’t know where it’s coming from. He finds it very confusing.”

While Cheryl has been working on her comeback, Liam has been continuing to work – and party. The ex-1d heartthrob, who’s planning a major 2019 tour, was at a fashion event in Paris last weekend, before going on a night out with Justin Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel at exclusive London club Annabel’s. It’s also been claimed Liam’s now living in a warehouse in London when he’s in the UK, after moving out of his Surrey home. But he has said he won’t spend much time here due to work commitments and has spoken about how hard it is to be away from his son. “Babies want their mum – I would never have wanted to get in the way of that,” he said. “It was actually easier to go out on the road just knowing he wanted his mum,” he added. “Now he looks at me and points at me, like, ‘Here’s this fun guy!’ He knows. That makes me more upset now, leaving, because I know he’ll want to see me. But he’s not at the place yet where he’s crying when I leave – that’s gonna be an absolute disaster. I’m not ready for that.”
