Cheryl’s on the prowl for an older man

We imagine Cheryl’s not exactly thinking of signing up to Tinder just yet, after only splitting with Liam Payne a few weeks ago, but it seems she’s already got plenty of volunteers lining up to start matchmaking her with suitors.
Professional loudmouth Piers Morgan recently claimed he’d spoken to Cheryl both via text and in person at a showbiz party, and said he thought she was ready to look for an older man since she’d split with Liam – who was ten years her junior. Piers and Cheryl’s initial conversation via text concerned the official break-up announcement from her and Liam, which Piers called “ridiculously saccharine”. Cheryl was keen to put the TV presenter back in his box and sent him a sarcastic message saying, “I’m so sorry you didn’t like my statement, Piers – perhaps I should have texted you the intimate details in chronological order as it unfolded.”
However, the singer then went on to say she shared Pier’s sentiment regarding the wording, saying, “I’m just messing. I hate those kinds of statements, too, so cringeworthy. But we don’t hate each other. It just didn’t work out.”
Luckily for Cheryl, the two then bumped into each other at the Syco summer party – hosted, of course, by Simon Cowell. As only two men in their fifties can do, Simon and Piers hilariously joked about Cheryl’s love life. Piers had already told Chez he was planning to “nibble your neck when the paps are around to start ‘CHERYL UPGR ADES’ rumours,” and then at the party, he proceeded to suggest to the 34 year old that, as she has “tried the toy-boy route, it must be time for the sexier older man, surely?”

she had to endure round two from Simon, who reportedly told her, “I had a bet on you splitting up from Liam before England were knocked out of the World Cup.”
Charming. We’re sure Cheryl was happy to ignore any advice (or advances) from the grumpy old men, especially when she’s already got a perfectly good option in her life. As heat reported last week, Cheryl was previously linked to Adam Walsh – brother of her Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley – back in 2003, and then again in 2014, and sources believe there is potential for their romance to rekindle now that Cheryl is single again. But for now, she’s happy to have a bit of fun and thinks an older man could be a good option and hopes Simon may have someone for her.
“Simon knows a lot of people and Cheryl thinks he may have a few potential suitors within his circle,” our source says. “She’s not looking for anything serious, but she wouldn’t mind being wined and dined by a successful businessman and taken on some nice dates. She wants someone on her wavelength, who wants the same things from life.”
