‘Liam never hid his dislike of JB during the relationship’
She may be newly single, but that doesn’t mean Cheryl can escape relationship dramas and the men of her past. Last week, it was reported that her baby daddy Liam Payne – who she officially split from in July – and her ex-husband Jean-bernard Fernandez-versini faced-off during a night out in Monaco, the second time they’ve clashed this summer. And, understandably, we’re told Cheryl is mortified.
“Of course Cheryl is horrified about the reports of public bust-ups between her exes, as she really doesn’t want any drama,” an insider tells heat. “Cheryl is frustrated with Liam, as it seems he is the one who confronted JB – and in a public place, after he’d clearly been partying, too. For her, there’s nothing worse than having your dirty laundry aired in public. What’s made it worse is that Liam seems to be going out more than usual at the moment, and appears to be partying most nights with different girls, which is creating more drama around her.”
Reports claim it was Liam, 24, who initiated the confrontation,
while JB tried French to ignore businessman him, leaving onlookers shocked by the singer’s behaviour. “The whole night Liam was standing behind JB looking to fight him. He was stood there with his arms crossed and he kept pointing at JB – nobody could understand what he wanted,” an eyewitness revealed. “JB was just ignoring him, because he was like, ‘I’m 35 years old, he’s a 20-yearold kid. I don’t want to fight this kid in Monaco – it’s supposed to be a smart place.’ In the toilets, one of JB’S friends turned round to see Liam looking at him and it flared up. Liam reportedly said, ‘What the f**k are you looking at? Listen, your friend JB is a f**king c***.’ Security stopped things from escalating, but as he left, he looked at him and said, ‘I will f**k you up.’ It was all a bit embarrassing.”
A source also claimed that JB wants his ex-wife back, saying, “If Cheryl walked back into his life, he would love to give their relationship another go.”
We’re told Liam has always had issues with JB, especially as he got together with Cheryl soon after their divorce was announced in January 2016. Though she has strenuously denied the allegations, there were even reports that Liam and Cheryl had got together while she was still
officially with JB, even though they were separated. There were stories of another bust-up between the pair just days after Liam’s split with Cheryl last month, with a “tipsy” Liam goading JB in a London club – and our insider says he always seemed to get wound up by Cheryl’s ex. “Liam never hid his dislike of JB, and throughout his and Cheryl’s relationship, he felt he could never trust him, as he sometimes felt like JB would never fully leave Cheryl alone,” our source explains. “Even though Liam and Cheryl had [their son] Bear together back in March 2017, he had lots of issues, so when they split, he

hated the idea that JB might get back in contact. That’s why he was gunning for JB – he thinks he’s moved in on his territory.”
Cheryl, 35, married second husband JB in July 2014, three months after meeting. At first, values highly. We’re told JB has reached out to his ex and things are now quite amicable between them, which is why she is more annoyed with Liam’s behaviour – especially when he was linked to model Cairo Dwek last week, as he their whirlwind relationship appeared idyllic, with romantic JB treating Chezza to luxury weekends away and cute surprises, but it was all over within 18 months. Although it wasn’t the easiest of splits and JB dragged his heels over the divorce, he has never spoken badly of Cheryl or betrayed her trust, something she continued his holiday in Europe.
“Cheryl’s spoken to Liam and told him he needs to grow up – she asked him what the hell he was playing at with that outburst,” our insider says. “She really couldn’t believe it – it would be understandable if she had thought Liam was behaving like a stupid, immature idiot.
“Cheryl thinks it is important that he behaves properly, given that he’s a father. If he wants to go picking fights, she doesn’t want her name to be involved. She’s told him to leave JB alone.”
The insider adds, “She’s worried about how he’s been acting, and what he’s saying. They have an agreement that they won’t badmouth each other or discuss the relationship – and she’s warned him to respect that. But friends are worried Liam doesn’t seem to be thinking about it at the moment, and this is making Cheryl upset. “She thinks it’s so hypocritical of him, too – he’s the one out there partying with different girls every night, but yet he’s seemingly so consumed by jealousy when he sees JB.”
