Laura: ‘Paul’s a better kisser than Dane Bowers’

The Love Island runners-up compare exes

-

She didn’t exactly have the smoothest of rides in the villa, repeatedly finding herself getting pied off and wound up by oh-so “loyal” islanders. But Laura Anderson, 29, is having the last laugh, after winning a legion of fans for the classy way she handled the drama. Oh, and she’s doing fine on the love front, thanks very much, having left with carpenter-slash-model Paul Knops, 31, whose CV includes kissing Britney Spears. But he’s not the only one with a starry past, as Laura’s ex-boyfriend is none other than Mr Stud of 2000, Dane Bowers. Naturally, when we meet Laura and Paul straight off the plane, we were dying to know: whose kissing techniques does she rate higher?

Paul, you said Laura was a better kisser than Britney… Laura: Well, he said so, but he got it wrong in the lie detector test! Paul: I kissed Britney two years ago. Would you remember a kiss from two years ago? Laura’s a great kisser. But is Paul a better kisser than Dane Bowers? P: Ah! You kissed Dane Bowers? L: [Goes beetroot red.] Er, he’s my ex. And yes, yes, yes. Paul’s a better kisser.

Laura, you became a national hero for keeping your cool in the villa. How did you do it?

L: I think people make mistakes and everyone’s in there for themselves. In a selfish way, I tried to make up with people, because I just didn’t want to be angry. When I’m angry, I’m not very nice to be around, so I just thought I’d suck it up. Was there anyone you two struggled to live with?

P: Nothing bad about Wes, Josh and Jack, they’re amazing guys, but they’re a lot younger than I am.

L: Sometimes we used to just sit and be like, “Oh my God, they’re so loud!” P: And I’m more laid-back and chilled. L: But he’s super-fun, too. You don’t understand, he’s so naughty and weird. Have you seen any of the memes about you?

L: About us being old grannies? Yeah. People said I was lying about my age. W hy would I lie about being 29? I’d say I was 25. Paul: They’re funny. I saw one about me being related to Jesus, or that I’m the next James Bond.
