There was more chilling than clubbing on Cheryl’s Ibiza hols
There was no all-night partying for Bear’s mum
Given what Cheryl has been through recently, you can understand her need to let her hair extensions down on a girly holiday. And that’s exactly what she had planned last week, as she flew to Ibiza with her manager and good friend Lily England, along with two other female friends.
However, after leaving 18-month-old son Bear at home with his grandparents, it wasn’t quite the crazy time she had envisioned. “They all stayed in a luxury villa, as Cheryl felt more comfortable there, rather than in a hotel,” an insider tells heat. “The others would’ve preferred somewhere with a bit more of a party atmosphere, but they know Cheryl prefers something more low-key. She wanted to relax and sunbathe without people staring at her and taking photos. The villa was the full works, with an amazing pool. They had a private yoga instructor come over and a private chef. They did have a couple of nights out, but they weren’t particularly raucous.”
It was Cheryl’s first holiday since she split from her baby daddy Liam Payne, and we’re told she really wanted to enjoy herself, but she was also keen to network with the right people as she gears up for her music comeback after five years away. “They were in Ibiza for five nights and were out for two,” we’re told. “Cheryl has been told that unless she goes out and networks with everyone in the business – DJS, producers, promoters etc – then there’s no point her even bothering with her

comeback. She needs these people to think of her as someone cool and on the scene – someone who knows what music is being played in the clubs and who can be seen as current.”
Our insider adds, “The trouble is Cheryl’s been living in a bubble since having Bear, and this trip has made her realise just how much has changed in the business. They did one of the big daytime parties – in the VVIP area – then went out to a private villa party afterwards. The other night out was at one of the big clubs, although it was quite tame. Lily is very connected, so she knows a lot of people and who Cheryl should be hanging out with.”
The group also took a private boat out to the nearby island of Formentera, where they had a party day, before Cheryl, 35, headed back home to Bear. “They did a boat trip around the island, and over to Formentera on the Saturday – mooring up by one of the beaches and going to a posh restaurant,” we’re told. “That was the ‘crazy’ day – they had cocktails and the music blasting on the boat all day and really let their hair down. Obviously, Cheryl missed Bear and couldn’t wait to get back to see him. But, while her wild clubbing days are behind her, she’s looking forward to having more fun on girly trips away.”
