‘My wedding planner speaks crazy bride’
After postponing her wedding to fiancé John Noble due to, well, life getting in the way, Vicky Pattison is back in bride mode. She’s got a planner on board, and now just needs to convince John to let her have five hen dos…
You had a bit of a wild weekend recently – have you calmed down at all now you’re 30?
Yes. Gone are the days when I start on a Friday, find my feet on Saturday, by Sunday I’ve hit my stride, and on Monday, I’ve really got into it. Babe, those days are over. I went out last Saturday, spent all Sunday in my hotel room, and by Monday, I was just about OK to venture out. I’m 30 and proud.
What’s your ideal night in?
At home in Newcastle on my massive sofa with my gorgeous fiancé. Both of us with an Iroha face mask on. I’ll probably wear the platinum one, cos it’s hydro – good if I’ve had a night out. Then, I’d treat myself to a takeaway – I’m thinking Domino’s. I’ll probably have a glass of wine, but just the one. Then we’ll watch a good Netflix series before heading to bed for around 11pm. Maybe a little bit of a kiss and a cuddle, but definitely asleep by midnight.
How’s the wedding planning going this time around?
I was mega-stressed and I felt like it was running away from me again, so someone recommended me a wedding planner. I sent her a voice note and ranted at her for two minutes, like [in a high-pitched voice], “We have this venue, now I don’t think I like the venue, John and I are stressed, but we don’t want to put it off again, and everyone thinks we’re breaking up.” Bear in mind she had no idea who I was – she didn’t know me from Adam. She wrote back and said, “Don’t worry, Vicky, just take a breath. Luckily for you, I speak crazy bride.” She gets me.
Billie Faiers has basically had two hen dos and still not set an official wedding date. Would you fancy doing that?
I am so the type of person that would move my wedding back and say, “My hen do was so long ago, we’ll have another one.” Billie and Olivia Buckland are my wedding goals. I swear to God, Olivia’s had more hen dos than I’ve had hot dinners. She’s doing this new one called a Sten do, where her and Alex join the stag and hen together. How good is that?
