The Kardashian-wests plan their political career

‘She’s given him a spending limit of $100m, maximum’

They’re words we thought we’d never hear: Kanye for president. But it seems in this nightmare Black Mirror-esque reality, it might actually be happening. Singer John Legend last week confirmed that his friend Kanye West was planning to run for US president in the 2024 election.

“I think he’s serious,” the singer said. “He’s said multiple times that he’s interested in running for president. I think he sees some aspects of himself in Trump and sees that Trump winning makes it feel like he could do it, too.” And while it seems Kim is fully supportive of her husband, she’s also the one controlling the purse strings on Kanye’s presidential dreams. “Kim has warned Kanye that a presidential run could cost them their fortune, something Kanye does not seem to understand,” an insider reveals. “She is supportive of him, but wants him to be careful. She’s given him a spending limit of $100million, maximum. They figure it’s a smart investment, and given how much they’re both making these days [Kim’s got a reported $350m in the bank to Kanye’s $200m], it’s not such a huge chunk of their fortune.”

Kanye has teased his fans with hints at a future political career, recently tweeting, “2024,” and posting what appeared to be mocked-up campaign posters emblazoned with his face and the words, “Keep America Great.”

Our source tells us that, despite having almost no political experience, both Kim and Kanye are keen to move away from the entertainment world into politics. “They are 100 per cent committed to some form of political career once the TV, music and their other current businesses calm down.”

Kim has made multiple visits to the White House in recent months, as she has been campaigning to improve the clemency process in the US legal system. She was successful in helping Alice Marie Johnson receive a pardon from Donald Trump for a non-violent drug offence. The Tennessee woman had been sentenced to life without parole for what was her first offence. Our source tells us, “Interestingly, it’s Kim who’s more determined to make it to the White House than Kanye – even though Kanye’s been much more outspoken about politics. That’s why she’s already invested time and money in carefully curated causes, such as pardoning unreasonable life sentences, race issues, and being an unofficial spokesperson on Armenian genocide. And she wants to do it all with Kanye, because despite his eccentricities, she thinks he is a total visionary and she feels he’ll plot a campaign that’s unlike anything America has ever seen before.”

Just keep him away from the red button.
