The multitaski­ng new mum is on a mission

There’s no denying that having a baby has its perks – not least, the excuse to sack off exercise in favour of “bonding time” with your bubba. But Eva Longoria isn’t about to let becoming a mum stop her from being in tip-top shape. In fact, she’s putting three-month-old Santiago to excellent use by using him in her workout. After all, why pay for a gym membership when you have a perfectly good dumbbell at home?

“Eva’s determined to be in top shape by Christmas,” a source close to the star tells heat. “She’s using her workouts as another way to bond with Santiago, and uses him as part of her weight-training – gently, of course. He’s been growing steadily, so Eva’s hoping to have her abs back in months.”

Last week, Eva was pictured in Australia – where she’s filming – going hard in the park, and since she gave birth in June, the 43 year old has been vocal in her desire to get back in shape, but has also spoken about her “anxiety” over returning to work, fearing she’ll miss her son too much. But it seems the first-time mum, who’s also stepmum to husband José Bastón’s three kids, has managed to combine her priorities.

“Eva waited so long to have a baby of her own, so the last thing she wants is to pass him along to some minder while she spends hours with a personal trainer,” we’re told. “She designs her workouts herself to make sure Santiago isn’t left alone for a second, and loves nothing more than jogging with him in his stroller – he sleeps like a log thanks to the motion, and she gains extra strength in her arms.”

So, there you have it: use your baby as a weight to lose your baby weight. Good thinking, Eva.
