Binky and JP are, like, SO over... *Sob*
They’re on different paths, apparently
They seemed to have a picture-perfect Chelsea life, but all the Champagne and yoga in the world can’t fix an unhappy relationship. Last week, Alexandra “Binky” Felstead, 28, and Josh “JP” Patterson, 29, announced they had split, just 15 months after their daughter India was born.
The couple both announced their separation on Instagram, writing, “We are still a family and India is, and will always be, the absolute light of our lives. However, we have realised we are on very different paths at the moment, although we still adore each other.”
“Binky felt as if she was constantly trying to be someone who she’s not with Josh, and that wasn’t healthy,” a source close to the pair tells heat. “He’s an incredible dad and offered her absolutely everything she could ever need, but it all came down to the fact that they both wanted different things. Binky was always a career-obsessed party girl, while JP wanted her to be a homemaker, and move to the country and have more kids. He still loves her and still hopes she’ll change her mind.”
The couple began dating in 2015, but were not together when Binky discovered that she was pregnant at the end of 2016. At the time, she admitted, “My first reaction was, ‘Shit’, and I burst into tears.” However, the couple decided to give it another go, reuniting a few months before India’s birth in June last year.
Our insider adds, “Binky has been crying to her close friends, saying that she feels they were doomed from the start. She isn’t ready for more children – she is too busy with her work right now to even look after India full-time.
“She made the decision to put India in nursery some of the time, which was tough, and JP wasn’t exactly happy about it. That was one of the reasons they split.”
The couple were seen together in Germany just over a week ago, as Binky took India to see her dad complete the Berlin marathon. The couple were pictured looking emotional and hugging, but it was later revealed they’d actually broken up prior to their trip.
“They were constantly rowing and Binky let slip that she wasn’t happy,” we’re told. “But their friends haven’t written them off just yet – JP is a fighter and there’s still love between them.
“He won’t give up on trying to win her back, but ultimately Binky seems to have made up her mind, so there may not be much he can do about it.”
