How to be pregnant FOR 10 MONTHS
Kate celebrates with a baby shower
Kate Hudson? Nope, Kate is having a daughter, and she hasn’t had it yet (geddit?). Despite being pregnant for what must be approx. 74 years now, the actress is still waiting for her new arrival. She even revealed her impatience on Instagram, joking that she needs alcohol to help move things along, saying, “I figure a little shot of whiskey can put me into labour.”
But it looked like the 39 year old held off hitting the booze last week, as she celebrated the imminent arrival with a pinkthemed baby shower. Guests including jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer and actress Sara Foster wore flower crowns to the party, and were welcomed to the Sunday bash by a wall of flowers and pink balloons. Later, taking to Insta to share cute pictures with her friends, Kate wrote, “Grateful for these beauties throwing me the sweetest celebration for baby girl yesterday #Weready”.
It’s the first child for the How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days star and her musician boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, who have been dating for just over a year. They revealed their baby-girl news back in April, with a video showing the pair popping gender reveal balloons. Addressing her followers, Kate wrote, “It’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way”.
But Kate, who is already mum to sons Bingham Hawn, seven, and Ryder Russell, 14, from previous relationships with rockers Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy, admitted it had been her hardest pregnancy so far. She said, “I have never been more sick! It was the most sick first trimester of all my children… If you’ve seen me out and about, smiling and pretending like everything is amazing… I was lying!” Six months on, and Kate has confirmed she is now fit to burst, laughing during a recent TV interview that her “waters could go any second”. Despite that, the star says she and Danny have yet to land on a name, explaining, “We have a couple of them and we’re going to decide when the day comes.”
Whiskey might help with that, too. ■
