Olivia Attwood has given up on dating celebs – just as she joins Celebs Go Dating
The Love Islander on her search for The One
Olivia Attwood isn’t known for her low-key love life. In just over a year, we’ve seen her fall in love, then fall out of it, with Love Island co-star Chris Hughes, while swerving “dicksand” and muggy men, and also finding the time to make up and break up with footballer boyfriend Bradley Dack. But the 27 year old is throwing herself into the deep end again by joining the new series of Celebs Go Dating, where we’ll see her rack up a fair few dates in her quest for love. And, as she tells heat when we meet her at the agency’s HQ in London, she’s ready to put her needs first. Fame-chasers, stay clear.
How have you found filming?
It’s been nervewracking. I’m not a nervous person, but dating is out of my comfort zone. I’m a boyfriend kind of girl – boys fall in love with me after a day! But this is my opportunity to see what else is out there.
the public know you as a bit of a drama queen. do you want to change that image?
Yeah, Love Island was so intense, and my show with Chris was meant to be light and fun, but that shit hit the fan big time. People saw me shouting and swearing. But I’m fun and don’t take life seriously – hopefully you’ll see that.
Are you looking for love?
I want to be swept off my feet. I’ve been going round and round with Brad for years, it’s hard to stay away. But it would be nice to meet someone to break the cycle. I’ve had years of putting my relationships with guys first, so I’m doing this for me.
Have you heard from Chris at all?
No, I never hear from him and I don’t think about him watching the show – it doesn’t even enter my mind. It feels like a lifetime ago – I was a completely different person then.
would you date a celeb?
I’m sure there are some good celebrity men out there, but being with Chris made me never want to date a celebrity again. Having a boy with the same career as you is a lot of pressure, and you both get competitive. Showbiz is MY thing.
