Everyone knows that Taylor Swift makes a killer break-up track. But it looks like her days of dissing exes could be over, because the singer is happily settled with boyfriend Joe Alwyn – and this time, apparently, it’s for keeps. According to sources, we’ll be hearing sleigh bells AND wedding bells this Christmas.
“Taylor and Joe are inseparable – neither of them could envisage a life without the other,” says an insider close to the 28-year-old singer, who made a rare public appearance with Joe last week at the New York premiere of his new film The Favourite. “It hasn’t escaped anyone that this is the longest relationship Taylor’s had, and her friends are just waiting for the proposal. Joe’s already been ring shopping and apparently has one picked out – it’s just about the timing and plucking up the courage to do it in a meaningful way. It won’t be a surprise if he pops the question at Christmas.”
Once known for indulging in extravagant PDAS with her “long list of ex-lovers”, the singer has made real efforts to keep her and Joe’s relationship out of the spotlight – the pair have rarely been photographed together since they started dating in early 2017. And our insider says that Joe, 27, is feeling more and more comfortable with Taylor’s A-list status, and is ready to show off their love to the world. “There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Taylor’s totally in love with Joe, and all you have to do is look at how Joe is with her to see he’s fallen for her hook, line and sinker,” we’re told. “He’s starting to get more comfortable with being pictured out in public with her. He still doesn’t like all the attention she attracts, but he’s impressed she’s been able to turn away from the media glare.”
According to our source, the transatlantic pair are looking at celebrating their nuptials on both sides of the pond – and it will be sooner, rather than later. “Neither of them wants a long engagement, so they’ll get married a few months after the proposal,” says our source. “It’ll likely be a traditional country wedding in Tennessee, as long as they have a celebration for his family in England, too. It’s going to be beautiful.”
