Speculation was rife last week that Ant Mcpartlin’s new girlfriend Anne-marie Corbett could be expecting a baby. The couple were snapped leaving celeb hangout The Ivy after a meal together – and many fans took to the internet to share their reaction to the photos. “She looks suspiciously pregnant,” said one, while another hoped the rumours were true, saying, “I hope that she is pregnant, because Ant has said before that he really loved the thought of being a dad.”
Ant began dating Anne-marie earlier this year, following the breakdown of his marriage to Lisa Armstrong, and while they’ve been pictured together before, this is the first time they’ve chosen to go out to a high-profile celeb spot, which attracts paparazzi. It shows how comfortable they are in their relationship and they appear keen to let everyone know how happy they are.
During Ant’s 11-year marriage to Lisa, the couple never had children, but Ant revealed he’d always wanted to start a family. Back in 2013, Ant, 42, said, “Lisa and I would love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get older.” And less than two years ago – in February 2017 – he admitted, “We would love to have a family, so fingers crossed. If we’re blessed with children, then we’d be over the moon.”
After being arrested for drinkdriving and fined £86,000 back in April, Ant has spent time in rehab, and it was revealed recently that he just celebrated six months’ sobriety. This has led many to believe he is cleaning up his act to start a family with his former PA, Anne-marie, also 42.
One person who will be less than pleased to hear the rumours is Ant’s estranged wife. As heat reported last week, the make-up artist is said to be devastated at the thought of Ant having children with another woman. Fans of 41year-old Lisa were quick to support her in the wake of the speculation, describing it as “a punch in the gut”.
But, while it is no doubt a tricky time for her right now, Lisa is at least able to distract herself with her work on Strictly Come Dancing. Last week, she posted a photograph of handsome professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec with a lipstick mark on his neck, captioning the cheeky photo, “It’s a hard job sometimes!! #alijaz #redlips #mykiss #itwasntme.”
