Simon Cowell has his hands full with Scarlett
The live shows finally arrive this weekend – and we’re all about Scarlett Lee. On her second attempt at The X Factor, the 20-yearold make-up artist’s powerful voice and sheer determination bowled over Simon Cowell, and us lot at home. And she can’t bloody believe it…
How have you been in the run-up to the live shows? It’s really hectic, but I’m loving every minute. I’m having pictures taken today and the photographers are like… “Scarlett, you’re born for this!” Have you had your “makeover” yet? We’ve had a makeover, and our hair done – I’m so happy. I don’t want to have this big transformation where I don’t look like myself. It’s still a bit of me, but with a bit of what they want as well. I’m just so happy that they’re listening and they don’t want me to madly change. Last year, Simon told you to tone down your look a bit, have you had more of a “makeunder”? That was obviously a silly joke when Simon said that I had orange on me and stuff, but you know what? He put me through and he loves the way I am. I’m open to trying new stuff , but at the end of the day, I’m not going to change for anybody. You seem to have Simon wrapped around your little finger… [Laughs.] I love him. He treats us all the same, but me and him have got this relationship where we love each other and then I torment him. I think sometimes he could really kill me… When he’s probably had quite a hard day I’m sat there poking him. Have you been papped yet? Yes! I was on Lorraine and when I got out of the cab there were paparazzi. They were like, “Get used to it Scarlett, we’ll be around a lot!” I dreamt about it, I’ve watched videos online of celebs being papped and now it’s me! I’m enjoying every second.
