The star is refusing to accept bankruptcy

Pictured shopping in Poundland last week, Katie Price’s financial future is hanging in the balance as she continues to fight off creditors ahead of her bankruptcy hearing next week. And according to sources close to the reality star, who was once thought to be worth £40million, she’s growing increasingly desperate. In fact, we’re told the 40 year old is considering all options to dig herself out of the hole, including demanding cash from her ex Dwight Yorke for child-support back payments and “cleaning pub floors”.

“Katie is running out of options, but she’s too proud to admit that she’s hit rock bottom,” an insider tells heat. “She’s said she’s going to start over her way, and if that means going to work as a nurse and wiping people’s backsides, then she will. She says she’ll clean pub floors if she has to.”

The former glamour model managed to stave off bankruptcy last month, after submitting a last-minute proposal to pay back her debts – thought to be around £500k. She’s now set to appear in court in early December to discover if her plan has been accepted. But while friends are said to be encouraging her to accept insolvency – arguing it will give her the breathing space to repair her life – Katie’s “refusing to admit it’s the only way forward”.

We’re told, “She sees it as a black mark against her name, but the truth is she’s brought down her own empire. She sees bankruptcy as admitting defeat, and definitely doesn’t want Peter [Andre, her ex] telling her, ‘I told you so.’”

Last week, the mum of five shared a baby photo on Insta of eldest son Harvey, 16, with his father Dwight Yorke – who hasn’t made contact for ten years – adding the caption, “To who has never been there for him, just remember: it’s never too late.” We’re told Katie’s now seeking £500,000 from the former footballer, claiming he owes her way more for Harvey’s high medical and disability expenses over the years.

Meanwhile, we’re told friends have another cause for concern – Katie’s hinted that she’s planning another baby, this time with on/off boyfriend Kris Boyson, and may already be pregnant with her sixth child. “Katie’s stubborn – she listens to no one,” our insider says. “Maybe the hearing will force her to finally sit up and take notice.” n
