Can Celebs Go Dating help Kerry bag a normal fella without a trip down the aisle?

The Celebrity Dating Agency’s got its toughest signing yet

- charlotte oliver

She’s hardly had a quiet love life, readily admitting to racking up more magazine wedding spreads than we’ve had Boots meal deals. But Kerry Katona, 38, is ready to mingle again, and this time, she’s putting her love life in the far-more capable hands of dating experts Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson on Celebs Go Dating. God help them. And the dating agents sure have their work cut out for them with the mum of five who, when we meet mid-filming, jokes, “I get married because I’m a sucker for wedding cake.” But make no mistake, Kezza’s in no mood for husband number four. Stand down, lads.

what made you want to join the agency?

I’ve done the dating apps before, but this is much safer. You know you’re not going to get kidnapped. And you get paid. Plus, I have people to stop me getting married. I don’t date, because magazines pay me to get married.

how have you found all the dating?

Terrifying. I’ve never done the dating scene before, so it’s been interesting. Exhausting, though. But I’ve learnt a lot – definitely don’t drink on TV. But things are different. I’m not looking for my fourth husband. I don’t want to get married again and I don’t want more children. What I’m learning most is to love myself.

what are you looking for this time around?

A woman. Ha! I’m just enjoying dating. The more I do, the more I’m learning about myself. If I do find somebody, it has to be someone who doesn’t try to control or live on my coat tails. I want someone extraordinary – to not only let them into my life, but my kids’ lives, too.

You speak a lot on the show about your previous marriages – any regrets?

No, because I got three sets of amazing children from my ex-husbands. But my downfall was my second marriage – I’m not saying it was Mark’s fault, I have to take responsibility. But when me and Brian [Mcfadden] broke up, it crushed me. I got into drugs, married my drug dealer and that was how I coped. But I’m the strongest now I’ve ever been, and the most confident. I’ll get naked now if you want me to!
