Channel 4, Sunday 17 February, 9pm

-

K eely Hawes and Stephen Campbell Moore (The Last Post) star in Channel 4’s new six-part period spy thriller, created by Masters Of Sex writer Bash Doran. Feisty idealist Feef Symonds’ (Emma Appleton) hopes of becoming an agent are scuppered by the end of WWII, but she still longs to make a difference. With Attlee’s Labour party coming to power, Feef’s seduced by her handsome, married, American lover Peter – who works for the US Intelligence Agency – to get a post in the Civil Service and help the Americans uncover a Russian agent in the heart of the British government. But when it comes to the crunch, will she really be prepared to betray her country – and manipulate Hugh (Luke Treadaway), a Labour MP who she clearly has feelings for? A slow-burn opener, but we’re intrigued enough to stick around for episode two. HHHH Kay Ribeiro
