Zoë Kravitz and Rachel Riley got married! No, not to each other…
The Big Little Lies star led a weekend of celeb nuptials
Wedding planners were run ragged last week, as the end of June culminated in multiple celebrity weddings (we imagine the flower wall industry hit an absolute peak). One particularly starstudded event took place in Paris, as Zoë Kravitz, 30, married fellow actor Karl Glusman, 31. The pair – who have been together since 2016 – legally married earlier in the year, but decided to hold a luxe party for friends and family.
And where better to hold your A-list wedding than your dad’s 18th-century estate in Paris? Zoë’s father, singer Lenny, hosted the event at his threestorey mansion, complete with basement speakeasy, where he reportedly keeps an abundance of Don Pérignon (he’s the brand’s creative director). Toasting the posh Champagne was an array of Hollywood stars. Fellow Big Little Lies stars Reese Witherspoon (with husband Jim Toth), Nicole Kidman (with husband Keith Urban), Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley were all in attendance.
Other guests included Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah, Chris Pine and Peaky Blinders girlfriend Annabelle Wallis, Denzel Washington, and Cara Delevingne with (recently confirmed) girlfriend Ashley Benson. Zoë’s parents were, of course, also there. Lenny dressed true to form in a tuxedo and bare feet, according to his Instagram post, while Lisa Bonet – Zoë’s lookalike mum – attended with husband Jason Momoa.
The guests were pictured arriving at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the city the night before the wedding for a rehearsal dinner, and the co-owner of Restaurant Laperouse revealed it was quite the party.
“Any room with Lenny, Jason and Denzel [Washington] in it, well… it was crazy and insane,” Gregory Lentz admitted. “There was so much love in the room. There were toasts and they were moving into tequila when I left. They were still going at 2 am.”
And the couple clearly have a lot of love for Paris, with Zoë admitting her husband had planned to propose in the French capital. However, thanks to busy schedules, the Nocturnal Animals actor had to abandon his plans and go for a more casual approach.
Zoë revealed Karl had put on Nina Simone, lit candles and was dancing with her. “I think I was a little drunk,” Zoë remembers. “I could feel his heart beating so fast. I was like, ‘Baby, are you OK?’ I was actually worried about him!”
Unconventional as ever, Zoë was more than thrilled with the romantic proposal. “He nailed it,” Zoë said. “And I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris. It was at home in sweatpants.” n
