Is a post-glasto-triumph Kylie Minogue hearing wedding bells?
She’s feeling very lucky, lucky, lucky
Whether you were in that recordbreaking crowd or watching at home, no one could deny the power of Kylie Minogue at Glasto. Last week saw the diminutive singer at her gorgeous best on the Pyramid stage, 14 years after a cancer diagnosis forced her to pull out of the headlining spot. And as Kylie thanked fans – admitting “words can’t describe what today meant” – insiders say the princess of pop is feeling just as amazing offstage in her romantic life. In fact, she’s so deeply in love with boyfriend Paul Solomons, she’s told friends she’s finally ready to walk down the aisle.
“Kylie and Paul have been head over heels for a while now, but it’s
his recent support of her career that’s made her realise he’s The One,” says an insider close to the 51 year old, who was spotted backstage after her set watching Miley Cyrus’ performance and snogging her boyfriend of a year. “He’s very caring and will drop everything to be by her side if she needs him. It’s a true commitment that has made Kylie see that Paul is a keeper. He’s been hinting to pals about proposing, and even looking at rings. Kylie knows and is so excited – she’s even been talking dresses with her sister Dannii.”
It’s an about-turn for the former Neighbours icon, who previously swore off marriage after a series of failed relationships. Before GQ creative director Paul, she was engaged to actor Joshua Sasse, which ended amid explosive cheating allegations in 2017. She later insisted, “My parents never brought me up with the idea of the big marriage, I never had it as a goal. I thought, ‘Maybe I’ve got it all wrong and I should go for it.’ Now I’m going to stick to my previous view. I don’t think marriage is for me.” But since meeting 44-year-old Paul through mutual friends in February 2018, Kylie’s opinions seem to have changed. She recently called him “precious” and a “great, great guy”, saying in another interview, “Who says you can’t be soppy and romantic later in life? Particularly when you find a good and true love. I feel even more thankful and lucky that I have this in my life now... I’m really being taken care of.”
Our insider adds, “Things are so different with Paul. Joshua left Kylie feeling as though she could never love again – let alone get married. But Paul has restored her faith in men. She can’t believe how lucky she is to have found him. She really feels he’s her Prince Charming, and she’s finally letting herself get swept up in the romance.” n
