tie-dye’s not just for hippies

We show you how to wear one of summer’s hottest trends

-

This trend is a real ’90s throwback, and we’re loving it! From bright and bold, to more muted tones, there are so many ways to wear tie-dye this season. As always, think about what you want to emphasise – whether that’s a small waist, long legs, a petite frame or curvy figure. If you want to go all-out, try rocking the look headto-toe, or make the outfit more wearable by teaming with classic denim pieces.

Whatever your style, the heat team are here with some fashion inspo to get you looking hot, no matter what your shape or size…

MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU

● Want to balance out your shape? Draw the eye away from the area you’d rather not focus on – try streamlined shapes, longer lines or fluted styles, as they’ll skim your figure. ● Want to emphasise curves? Figure-hugging options are great for you. ● Is defining your waist key? Make it the focal point of your outfit by belting your dress or jacket, or tucking in your top. ● If you’re a little bit conscious of your bottom half, go for darker tones, as they’re more forgiving – keep lighter tones up top.

“I wanted a smarter take on tie-dye, hence this denim/tailoring mash-up. The high-waist fit and longline length of these shorts are perfect for making my legs appear longer. I styled with heels, but I’d also wear with chunky trainers for dressed-down vibes.”

“I love a playsuit as an alternative to a summer dress, so this little number was a great choice. A flattering tie-back means I can draw attention to my waist and divert it from my tummy. I teamed it with flat sandals and a crossbody bag. Practical and pretty!”

LAURA PUDDY STYLE EDITOR @LAURA_PUDDY

“A slip dress is a summer staple, and midi lengths are my go-to, as it means I’m not flashing too much leg. A belt bag stops the look from being too boxy, as it defines my shape. I always like to wear heels, but this would look equally as good with flatforms or fresh white kicks.”
