Rachel & Pasha Strictly married!
And we didn’t even get a countdown
‘Introducing the new Mr and Mrs Kovalev’
That Strictly Come Dancing curse has churned out more new couples than you can shake a tail feather at, but not many have actually made it up the aisle. Last week, however, Countdown star Rachel Riley confirmed that she and her pro dancer partner from the show, Pasha Kovalev, had gotten married in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas.
The 33 year old posted a picture of herself and Pasha playing the happy couple on her Instagram, captioning it,
“Introducing the new Mr and Mrs Kovalev. We both said yes!” Rachel eschewed the usual white gown for the ceremony, instead choosing a short summer dress similar to those she often wears for Countdown.
The couple originally got together in 2014, after being partnered on Strictly in 2013. Rachel had been married when she appeared on the show, but split from husband Jamie Gilbert just weeks after she was eliminated from the series.
Pasha, 39, and Rachel also recently announced they are expecting a baby, due this December. Pasha quit his job on Strictly last year, and recently told heat he is excited to get stuck into daddy duties. “If you’d have asked me a few years back, I definitely didn’t want any kids,” he said. “Over the last couple of years, the ideas have changed a little bit and now I’m absolutely looking forward to it.”
He also told us what kind of mum he imagined his new wife will make, saying, “She’s very caring. I think she will be a very good mum, first of all. She will try to take care of everything and make sure everything is covered.” n
