Uh-oh – there’s more Ant and Lisa drama
The exes are still at loggerheads as he looks loved-up with Anne-marie ‘Lisa wants to do what she can to get a fair settlement’
They ’ve been split up for nearly two years, but relations between Ant Mcpartlin and Lisa Armstrong don’t look like improving any time soon. The former couple are still trying to finalise their £60million divorce, and last week, newspaper reports claimed they were involved in a bust-up when Ant visited their old marital home, while Lisa was there.
The reports alleged the TV presenter was left stunned after Lisa refused to let him in to collect his belongings, despite ringing the intercom several times. Although it had allegedly been agreed through his lawyers, Lisa was said to be unaware he would be turning up himself, meaning they would see each other for the first time since starting divorce proceedings.
A few hours after the story was published, Lisa liked a tweet one follower sent her, saying, “Why would you let your ex of
2 years into your home? If I was @lisaamakeup I’d have thrown his stuff out a long time ago! She’s moved on and it’s HER HOUSE now, not theirs.” She also liked a couple of other tweets that could be seen as being derogatory to Ant.
The reported row comes days after Ant was pictured with new girlfriend Anne-marie Corbett, looking very loved-up, as they watched the tennis at Wimbledon. When the couple first got together, their relationship caused huge controversy, mainly because Anne-marie used to work as a PA to both Ant and Lisa. Lisa claimed Anne-marie was a friend of hers, and afterwards took to “liking” tweets that claimed Ant and Anne-marie had betrayed her.
While Ant has always tried to be respectful of Lisa’s feelings, it’s clear he now wants to show everyone how strong he and Anne-marie are. “This is the first time they’ve gone to a public event like this and made a point of showing off their relationship,”
says an insider close to the Britain’s Got Talent host. “Ant has decided he doesn’t want to hide their love away any more. He feels that they’ve done nothing wrong, and they want to enjoy themselves by attending fun events together.”
As heat has reported, the exes are still said to be in deadlock over their divorce settlement, nine months after their decree nisi (the first stage of a divorce) was granted. And make-up artist Lisa, 42 – who put up two selfies on social media soon after the Wimbledon pictures emerged – is showing no signs of speeding up the process.
The source continues, “The fact that everything with Lisa is still up in the air is only making things more frustrating for Ant. He’s eager to come to an agreement, but of course Lisa wants to do everything she can to get what she and her lawyers would regard as a fair settlement.”
Meanwhile, Ant, 43, was caught up in headlines for a very different reason last week, after it was revealed that he’d lost £2.4million on a “nightmare” property investment. Both Ant and TV partner Declan Donnelly, as well as fellow ITV veteran Phillip Schofield, are said to have sunk millions into the unfinished Algarve development, which has been left to stagnate.
Photos of the would-be plush site beside a golf course in upmarket Quinta do Lago show rubbish piled up and weeds covering half-built pools. The TV stars’ lawyers are working on recouping losses, but insiders say Ant is still upset. “He’s disappointed about the whole thing,” says the source. “And it couldn’t have come along at a worse time, as he’s also trying to settle his divorce.” ■
