Fresh heartache for Coleen
Despite new affair allegations, she’s having fun in the sun
We all know how much Coleen Rooney loves a holiday and, by her standards, she hasn’t had that many this year. But last week, she started to make up for lost time, as she jetted out to Ibiza for a girly break with her friends.

have come at a better time for the 33-year-old WAG, after yet more allegations about husband Wayne’s cheating came to light. Last week, the autobiography of former sex worker Helen Wood was finally published, following months of headlines about its revelations. And, while you may have imagined the former escort had nothing else to reveal about Wayne, it still managed to shock – alleging that he’d cheated on Coleen repeatedly, and even had an “affair”. Now, insiders say the mum of four is furious, admitting she can’t take much more.
“Coleen has once again been left humiliated by Wayne’s behaviour,” says an insider close to the couple, who have four sons from their 11-year marriage. “She doesn’t know what to believe, and just hopes this is it, because she really can’t take much more. This holiday couldn’t have come soon enough, she just wanted to get away and forget everything. Her friends have always been a constant support and, once again, they are there for her. They’re determined to have fun and really enjoy themselves.”
Helen Wood famously had a fling with Wayne ten years ago, and refers to her time with him as “like one big orgy”. In her new book, A Man’s World, Helen says Wayne, 33, “shagged loads of girls, friends of mine”, and described her notorious threesome with him and fellow escort Jenny Thompson as “bland”. She also alleges, “He was even seeing one of my friends, a dental nurse, and it was near enough an affair. There was an escort who Wayne regularly saw, who used to pose as
a cleaner with a couple of other girls who go to footballers’ houses.” Helen, 32 – who won Big Brother in 2014 – also detailed how Wayne once became upset after they’d had sex, admitting that his wife was five months pregnant with their first child, but still contacted her again weeks later for another date.
As heat’s reported, Coleen – who met Wayne when she was just 12 – has endured endless headlines about her marriage. As far back as 2004, the England player was linked to prostitutes – including grandmother Patricia Tierney. He later apologised publicly, saying, “I regret it deeply and hope people understand it is the sort of mistake you make when you are young.” But controversy has continued to follow the couple. Since Wayne moved his family to America last summer, Coleen has dealt with many more damaging reports of the footballer’s behaviour, including drunken arrests and late night partying with other women.
But friends say Coleen’s determined not to let this book break her and is continuing to make the most of her summer of fun, while Wayne stays in the States playing football. “Of course it’s horrible hearing Helen’s claims,” says the source. “But Coleen has put the cheating behind her. She’s not going to let this ruin all the hard work she’s put into her marriage. She is humiliated, yes, but she just wants to concentrate on her boys and having a good summer with her family and friends.” n
