Will Love Island’s Maura be the first to steal the £50k?

She’s bringing the drama, and we’re loving it

-

When she strutted into the villa harping on about “fanny flutters”, the whole nation recoiled in horror. Nobody could believe this mouthy Irish model would last five seconds there, especially after having her very forthcoming advances rejected by Tommy. But the 28 year old stuck around, and we found ourselves desperate for more of her. Now, viewers are convinced Maura will not only reach the final, but that she’ll be the first Islander ever to steal the £50k prize money. (Quick reminder: the person in the winning couple who picks the envelope with £50k in it can

either “steal” it for themselves, or choose to share it.)

Fans have multiple theories about the model’s game plan in the villa, the majority of which end up in her taking the prize for herself. One wrote, “Can’t wait for Maura to win Love Island and steal the 50k from a shook Curtis, who actually thought she liked him,” while another suggested, “Current Love Island thoughts: Maura to form a false alliance to win, then steal the £50k off him at the end.”

Maura’s pursuit of Curtis Pritchard has caused quite the stir among Love Island viewers – and let’s be honest, we’ve loved every second of the drama. The girl has had quite the journey during her time on the show.

She went in strong with a plan to seduce Tommy away from Molly-mae, but was bereft when the boxer stuck with his gal. Then Maura set her sights on new boy Tom – who quickly screwed things up by questioning if Maura’s sexual attitude was “all talk”. Left single, all of Maura’s dreams came true when the girls headed to Casa Amor – “There’s going to be loads of willy,” she screamed – and she immediately trained her eye on Dennon and Marvin.

Maura played a little tonsil hockey with both lads, before taking Marvin back to the main villa – but he was quickly consigned to her reject pile when she caught wind of Curtis and Amy’s split. The Irish beauty didn’t waste time swooping in on newly-single Curtis, and some fans have questioned her intentions, with one writing, “Used to love Maura, but she is clearly playing a game. She knows sex sells and that Curtis is a fan fave.”

But Maura’s friends and family say Maura isn’t putting on an act. Former Islander Olivia Attwood – who worked as a Monster Energy girl with Maura – says, “All I know about her is what you see.” Maura’s sister Becky agrees, “There’s no falseness about her. She’s mad to party, she says everything as it is.”

Let’s all pray to the reality TV gods that we get to see Maura cackling off into the sunset with £50k stuffed into her bra. What a final that would be. n
