Amy: the real winner of love island

How the air hostess triumphed… by quitting

-

As she returned to British soil – and into the arms of her mum – last week, Love Island fans were full of praise for Amy Hart’s decision to quit the show. After a rocky ride, culminating in her difficult split with Curtis Pritchard, she told her fellow Islanders, “When you love someone, you have to let them go. My Love Island journey finished last night.”

Fans were quick to express their feelings on Twitter over the 26 year old’s shock departure, praising her for her courage. One wrote, “Amy, you are a winner. Total respect for you. You kept it classy and sophisticated.” Upon her return, Amy herself said, “I chose my mental health over the reality show. I have to put myself and my sanity first.” Fans supported her decision to prioritise her well-being . One commented, “Amy is the winner of self-love Island. You absolutely do not need to stay in situations that will slowly chip away at your own self-worth and mental health. May we all walk away from our exes with such grace.”

And the air hostess seems set for big things back in the UK, having landed a lucrative media deal as soon as she got home, as well as garnering support from celebs like Laura Whitmore and Vicky Pattison, who told Amy to “embrace your fire”.

With a musical theatre past, Amy could follow in 2017 winner Amber Davies’ dance steps and bag herself a West End role. Amber’s worth is now estimated at £1.6m, so it’s nothing to shake a tambourine at.

We’re crossing our fingers and hoping that we’ll see Amy shimmy out as the first Love Island contestant to do Strictly Come Dancing this autumn. Oh, what a world it would be if she were paired with AJ…
