Oh, the cold, bitter irony of presenting a TV show about love, while being apparently unable to stop making the same terrible romantic choices again and again. Caroline Flack has alarmed friends this week by publicly cosying up to ex Bradley Simmonds five months after their short-lived fling ended. And everyone’s worried the Love Island host is going to get burned yet again…
“Bradley has wormed his way back into Caroline’s life and some people think she’s playing with fire,” says an insider close to the 39 year old, who previously
enjoyed a fling with personal trainer Bradley, 24, in February. “But she’s not listening. They have insane chemistry and can’t resist each other. Caroline loves the attention he gives her, and she’s definitely developing feelings for him.”
Caz and Bradley certainly looked loved-up last week, as they left Soho House in London at 3am (above), holding hands as they climbed into a taxi. The next morning, the former footballer – who awkwardly also dated Love Island contestant Molly-mae Hague earlier this year – tellingly shared pictures of Caroline in the gym.
As heat has previously reported, Caroline tried to play down their romance earlier this summer, insisting, “Everyone keeps saying I’m dating him, but I’m not. I wouldn’t want to ruin it because he’s the best thing.” But friends say that line doesn’t really cut it any more. “Caroline thinks she can get away with saying it, because she’s previously denied their relationship,” says the source. “She swears that Bradley is just a friend – admittedly with benefits, occasionally – who’s helped her through some really tough times, especially with all the fitness and wellbeing advice he’s given her. But no one believes her.”
Caroline – who endured a very public on/off romance with Apprentice star Andrew Brady last year, and was linked to rugby star Danny Cipriani this spring – recently confessed, “I’ve been dating and really enjoying it. I’ve decided to give people a chance, go and date and have some fun.” And insiders say she is, at least, trying hard to keep things casual with Bradley and not get carried away. We’re told, “She’s having a lot of fun with him and she’s also got a lot of other admirers on the backburner. But she thinks Bradley is truly one of the good guys, and gets excited by taking big risks in her romantic life.
“Either way, she’s not going to stop seeing Bradley. None of her behaviour is coming as a shock to those who know her – they’re just concerned she might end up getting hurt again.” n
