STYLE TEAM FLORALS

Embrace striking brights and pretty pastels to rock this classic trend

-

With summer now well underway, it’s time to up the ante and try out new-season florals. Yes, we know, not exactly groundbreaking for this time of year, but there are so many ways to wear the trend. From pretty pastel shades to clashing prints, and from everyday dressing to occasion wear, there’s a pattern for everyone. This week, we’ve tried out floral dresses. As always, think about what you want to emphasise – a small waist, long legs, a petite frame or curvy figure. Also, opt for accessories like beaded bags and tonal hair clips to instantly elevate your look. So, whatever length you’re after, the heat team are here with inspo, no matter your shape or size.

MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU

● Draw the eye away from areas you’d rather not focus on. Streamlined shapes, longer lines or fluted styles will skim your figure. ● Bodycon options, shift dresses and bias cuts are great if you want to emphasise your curves. ● Is defining your waist key? Make it the focal point of your look with a belt or wrap-style dress. ● If you’re conscious of your bottom half, go for darker tones here, as they’re more forgiving.

JAZZRIA HARRIS ASSISTANT STYLE EDITOR @JAZZIEHARRIS

“I always opt for mini styles, as they work well on my frame. These voluminous sleeves tap into the oversized trend, but being petite doesn’t mean you have to avoid this look. The short length of this dress balances out the full arm, making it suitable for any height.”

RACHAEL MARTIN STYLE WRITER @THEBRETONBIRD

“Thanks to its flattering cut, this dress is flying off the shelves, so I was very happy to get my hands on one. Although it’s technically a midi, I’ve worn it as a maxi, as it’s the ideal length for me. I opted for heeled sandals and a pearly bag to create a glam look that’s not OTT.”

LAURA PUDDY STYLE EDITOR @LAURA_PUDDY

“Midi is my go-to length, so I’ve opted for this formfitting number that defines my waist, which, as a curvy girl, is a must for me. I rarely wear print, but I am loving this bright option. These neon heels lift the look – just don’t forget your oversized sunnies!”
