And he is having absolutely none of it
They called a truce earlier this year, but it seems Peter Andre and Katie Price are at loggerheads again – over 12-year-old daughter Princess. Pete recently revealed his horror at being asked by Princess if he would let her go on Love Island. The 46-year-old dad of four told Princess, “When they start doing Love Island based on priests and nuns and doing sermons on Sundays, you can go on.” But Pete may have a bigger fight on his hands, as Katie is encouraging Princess’ ambitions.
“All Princess talks about is how she wants to be on shows like Love Island and become an Instagram model,” says heat’s insider. “Pete knows he’s not the only parent to have this problem, but he’s concerned that not only has Katie been encouraging it, but she has even helped map her out a career
in modelling. Katie sees her younger self in Princess and would love her to follow in her footsteps. She’s told Pete that, once Princess is 18, she’s not going to stop her from doing anything she wants, whether that’s going on a reality show or becoming a glamour model, like she did. She doesn’t think there’s any shame in it, but Pete is fuming at the thought of Katie filling Princess’ mind with ideas.”
Katie recently received a backlash on Instagram for using Princess to plug her latest book. Princess finished the video by copying her mum’s signature wink and kiss at the camera, which prompted hundreds of comments from fans, such as, “Full make-up and filter… on a 12 year old?! And mum’s coaching for the over-the-shoulder wink at the end. Jesus Christ!”
Katie and Pete – who were married for four years and have son Junior, 14, and Princess together – have previously fallen out over their kids. Earlier this year, Katie branded Pete a “bell end” for not letting her film some of her reality show with Princess.
“Pete has always felt that Katie wants to cash in on their kids, but he fears that she’s taking things too far with Princess,” our insider reveals. “Pete would love to see Princess take inspiration from his wife, Emily, and study medicine or another serious profession. But Katie loves that Princess is girly and wants to experiment with fame. Katie thinks Princess could be Britain’s next top model when she’s a bit older, and she’ll do anything she can to help make that happen for her.”
Sadly for Katie, Pete is firmly not on board. “Katie feels Pete is trying to have a dig at her for her glamour modelling background, but Pete maintains that he’s just being a protective parent.” n
