Kerry Katona devastated over George’s alleged cocaine binge

George Kay had a long-running drug addiction

-

An investigation has been launched into police conduct surrounding the death of Kerry Katona’s ex-husband, George Kay, after it has been alleged that he was found “eating cocaine” at a Holiday Inn. It was initially reported that George had collapsed at his home and died shortly after. However Cheshire Police have now released a statement saying, “At 9.54pm on Friday, July 5, police received a report of concern for the safety of a 39-year-old man at a hotel on Wood Lane, Sutton Weaver. Officers attended and spoke to the man, as well as hotel staff. All parties agreed that he could remain at the hotel. At 10.11am on Saturday, July 6, police received a further report of concern for the man’s safety. Paramedics attended the hotel

and the man was taken to Warrington General Hospital for treatment, where he sadly later died.”

Staff at the hotel in Runcorn have now claimed that, after police officers initially spoke to George on the Friday evening, they went to check on him on Saturday morning, only to find the former rugby player “eating” a large quantity of what seemed to be cocaine off the desk in front of him. Soon after, the staff called the police and subsequently the ambulance service to attend to George. Hotel staff have since been offered counselling to cope with the traumatic events.

Kerry – who was married to George for three years and had daughter Dylan-jorge with him – is said to be devastated by his death.
