Idefinitely fancy Ovie... I’m going to slide Into HIS dms

The ex Love Islander talks sex, surgery and being single with Oliver Grady

-

Heat has only been chatting to Megan Bartonhanson for around two minutes and we’re already talking about sex.

Still, it’s only fitting, given that the former Love Island star is the face of a new Ann Summers campaign aiming to get women enjoying their time in the sack more (the racy retailer’s research claims only 65 per cent of women have an orgasm every time they have sex, compared to 95 per cent of blokes).

And Megan really is the perfect spokeswoman to address this so-called “orgasm gap”. From the moment she walked into that famous villa just over a year ago, the former stripper had a refreshingly unapologetic attitude about everything from her surgery to her love of sex. But while she’s not shy between the sheets, Megan’s the first to admit that

relationships haven’t always been her strong suit. (“The goal right now is to make one last longer than a year!” she laughs.) Her romance with fellow islander Wes Nelson lasted for eight months outside of the villa, until things turned cold between them – literally – when he signed up for Dancing On Ice.

Although that hit her hard, Megan’s now looking to the future. She’s currently filming for Celebs Go Dating, and is rumoured to be seeing co-star Demi Sims after coming out as bisexual, though she’s been spied snogging model Louis Simonon in the street. And while she says she’s single, her sexy lingerie shoot for Ann Summers should ensure heads keep turning… You’re looking confident in these underwear pics… I am really, really happy with my body – the happiest I have been in a long time. I love my bum and small waist, although I have my mum’s thighs. They clap together when I sit down. But my body fluctuates, depending on how I am feeling. When I’m stressed, I lose loads of weight. In the villa, I was tiny compared to now. What size are you now? I’m a size 10, but I think I got down to a size 6 on Love Island. It was just stress. I feel much sexier when I’m curvier. You’re currently an ambassador for improving women’s sex lives. Have you had many disappointing experiences in the bedroom? Not really. And if I have, it will be the first and the last time. I am very selfish. I don’t understand why anybody would fake an orgasm. Sex is something to be enjoyed. All women need to march themselves into Ann Summers, get a toy, and if your bloke’s not doing the job, finish yourself off next to him. Would you end a relationship if the sex wasn’t good? It depends. I have a high sex drive and, in a relationship,

I want it a few times a day. But if I really got on with someone and the sex wasn’t great, I would still try and make it work. You’ve been single since March – when did you last get some action? It’s been a while. I’ve slept with two people since March. So, yeah, sad times. But I want to have something more serious now, so I’ll wait longer before I have sex with someone. Since coming out as bi, have any famous men or women slid into your DMS? I’ve had a few, but they’ve all been the same stereotypes, like footballers and rappers. I just want something different. But since I came out about dating girls, I have had a lot of hot girls in my DMS, I must say. Are you equally attracted to men and women? Yeah. I think I have always been appreciative of women’s bodies. It wasn’t until I started [exotic] dancing that I really had my first experience sexually with a woman. I’ve never had dates or a relationship with a woman, though, so with Celebs Go Dating, I was really curious about how I would feel doing that.

Speaking of which – how is filming

for Celebs Go Dating going? I can’t really discuss anything about it with you. I’ll get into trouble! OK, let’s talk Love Island, then. Which of this year’s Islanders do you fancy? I definitely fancy Ovie. I was messaging all my friends last night like a school girl saying, “Oh my God, I was in the wrong year! I need that 6ft7in piece of ass!” I’d be up for a date with him when he gets out. I think I am definitely going to slide into his DMS. [Laughs.] Do you have a crush on any of the girls? I did fancy Anna at first, but now, not really. I think Amber and Anna are just a bit bitchy. Who do you think has been the most fake person this series? Anna. I don’t know how she could switch from Ovie, who was literally perfect, and now she has gone back to Jordan. Maybe it’s tactical, because she thinks she will be liked more by the public with Jordan, because Ovie is more quiet. What have you made of Maura? I love her. After she danced for Curtis, I fancied her a bit, too. I have really liked her since the beginning, but I don’t think her intentions have been true with Curtis. He is my second favourite boy after Ovie. I think he is true gentleman – his morals are in the right place and he is a lovely person. Do you think Tommy and Molly-mae will last in the outside world? I hope so. I think Tommy is absolutely obsessed with her. I think they will last the longest for sure. It is difficult for a relationship to last when you go back to reality, though, right? Yeah, and I hate to be cynical, but no one is still together from my year. I think in the first two or three series, it was more authentic and people were there for the right reasons. I think now people know that if you go in there, even if you are only in there for a week, it will increase your social media followers and next week you will be promoting a watch or something. Who do you want to win? I think Tommy and Molly-mae

are the strongest couple, but Anton and Belle have really grown on me. Have you been disappointed with the lack of sex this year? Yes, it is disappointing. I find it so odd – I think they’ve either gone out of their way to not show it, or the couples have made a conscious choice not to do it. But when you’re kissing and cuddling in bed, surely it’s the natural thing to do to have sex? I have sex like a man, though. My mum always says that. Er, how does she know? Obviously, I used to live with her with my first boyfriend. She would be like, “You two are like rabbits!” We would just shut the door and so many times she would be like the mum in Mean Girls. She’d be at the door like, “Any drinks? Any condoms?” Have you always been sexually confident? Yeah – I think you’re either into it, or you’re not. In a lot of ways, I have been very self-conscious. I was bullied at school and I had self-esteem issues when I was younger, so sex was a way of me expressing myself. It’s so natural, it shouldn’t be seen as a slutty thing. What is your relationship like with Wes now? We don’t speak, whatsoever. Do you hope you might be able to have a friendship one day? I don’t want a friendship with him. There is definitely nothing to talk about. I have moved on. I’m in a really happy place and I’m just surrounding with positive, truthful, honest people. Do you believe that he cheated on you? Who knows? I don’t know for sure, but it’s in the past. I have grieved for that relationship and all of that a long time ago. I’m in a really good place right now, and I want to find someone that I can have a future with and just be happy. You’ve always been open about having cosmetic surgery. Have you had anything done since heat spoke to you last? No. Since I’ve been out of the villa, I have had Botox, but that’s it. Oh, I’m getting laser hair removal all over my body, if that counts. It’s changed my life. I’m literally like a naked mole rat and I love it. If full bushes come back into fashion, though, I’ll have to get one of those toupees for your nun [that’s vagina, in case you’re not familiar with the term]. Do you plan to have any surgery in the future? If my boobs go saggy after having a baby and breastfeeding, then I’ll get them put right and tight. Would you ever have a designer vagina after having kids? Oh my God, no! If someone is with me for that long that they are willing to reproduce with me, I don’t think they’ll care what my nun is looking like after childbirth. Surely it can’t do that much damage? Where do you see yourself in five years’ time? For me, the goal isn’t to remain in the public eye for as long as I can. I just want to do things that make me feel like I’ve achieved something. I’d love to do my own documentary one day, about the sex industry or mental health, because I think I have experienced a lot in my 25 years. Would you like to be the next Stacey Dooley? Yeah! I’d put my own spin on it – I’ve experienced those things, so I’d really be able to connect with the people I’m interviewing. It’d be nice to do something more serious.

‘I’ve had laser hair-removal. I’m like a naked mole rat’

Can you see yourself doing any more reality shows? The only one I would like to do is the jungle, but I’d probably last two days and then do a Gemma Collins. I’d be like, “Where is my fake tan? I need a Mcdonald’s. Get me out of here!” n Megan leads Ann Summers’ Pleasure Positivity Project. For more information, visit Annsummers.com/pleasure
