We’ve barely had time to blink after Love Island finished, but the nights are getting longer and we’re already planning which advent calendar to get – which means Strictly Come Dancing is on its way back! And everyone’s wondering who will don their dancing shoes this year.

Luckily, we’ve not had to wait long, as – at the time of writing – we’ve had six celebs revealed as this year’s contestants. First to be announced was England football legend,david James. So far, two soap stars have also

been confirmed – Eastenders’ Emma Barton and Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley. The obligatory BBC weather person/newsreader/presenter slot will be filled by BBC Breakfast ’s Mike Bushell.

Youtube star Saffron Barker will be hoping to follow in Joe Sugg’s footsteps to the final. While she’s unfamiliar to many, the 19 year old boasts 2m Youtube subscribers and over 1m Insta followers. But she has also come under fire for complaining about a long train journey, following a suicide on the tracks, and allegedly befriending a young cancer sufferer for “attention”, according to the girl’s mother.

Hoping we won’t be laughing at his dancing, comedian Chris Ramsay will be part of the Strictly family this autumn, too. The 32 year old’s wife Rosie will be able to give him pointers, as she used to be a professional dancer, although he’s not holding out much hope.

He’s said, “At my wedding, I danced with my wife – that one song took about six months’ practice, and I definitely stood on her feet a couple of times.”
