Amber: ‘Greg is marriage material’

The Love Island winners on their whirlwind romance

‘I don’t think it’s in our nature to see other people’

She was one of the first in the villa, he was the last. We all hoped Greg O’shea would be the one to sweep Amber Gill off her feet, but we never imagined he’d be the one to take her to victory. They may have only been together for 12 days on the show, but Amber already has marriage on her mind, thanks to her rather overzealous mum, Vanessa.

“My mam definitely wants me to marry Greg,” Amber revealed, adding, “I feel like Greg is definitely marriage material.” And it seems that Greg, 24, isn’t averse to the idea, either.

“I’d be a big believer in only being with someone if you can see potential with them,” he said. So, it’s no wonder Greg wanted to lock down his 21-year-old Love Island queen.

“I don’t think it’s in our nature to see other people,” he added. “We’re

both quite loyal, and we’re really into each other at the moment, even though it’s only early stages. So, definitely we’re only seeing each other.”

Since leaving the villa, the pair have seemed inseparable, after Greg was spotted filming in Newcastle and at Amber’s house with her and her family. One person who clearly welcomed Greg with open arms is Amber’s mum, who is delighted her daughter chose Greg over “harsh” and “insensitive” Michael.

“When she picked Greg over him, it was so amazing,” Vanessa said. “Leon [Amber’s dad] was celebrating as if he’d scored a hole in one – he punched the air in joy.”

It seems the Gill family is hoping Greg will stick around, as Vanessa gushed, “Greg is absolutely lovely, he is such a nice boy. You can tell he’s genuine. He has high morals, treats her well and is respectful towards her. He’s a lovely boy and he’s welcome here any time.” n
