Hippy birthday, Millie

The boho babe celebrated her 30th with a fancy festival

- Rebecca Greenow

Even though Millie Mackintosh is a regular on the festival scene, she was never going to celebrate her 30th in muddy wellies with someone throwing a bottle of wee around. So, instead, she hired a proper party planner to organise her three-day bash at Retreat East, a £25k-a-year members’ club in the Suffolk countryside, no less.

By her side was her second husband Hugo Taylor, although he was looking more Pirates Of The Caribbean than Woodstock. Also there to help glug the gallons of Laurent Perrier on tap were Millie’s former Made In Chelsea buddies Caggie Dunlop, Rosie Fortescue and Spencer Matthews, with his wife Vogue Williams.

In between the booze sessions, the birthday girl and her party pals were treated to Millie Mac & Cheese (her pun, not ours) and a fancy al fresco lunch, plus the use of the wellness spa before they folded away their tents and headed back to London. Oops, our bad – they actually stayed in a huge barn, with each bedroom featuring a four-poster bed and

freestanding bath. The open-plan living area was equipped with a kitchen and lounge area and a wood-burning fire. Still not impressed? There was also a pop-up glitter station, a cocktails truck, a three-tier cake and hot tubs. “Best 30th I could have wished for, thank you to everyone who made it so special,” Millie wrote on Instagram, alongside a snap of her wearing Isabel Marant boots and a floaty white Raisa Vanessa dress. The fashionista takes her festival wardrobe verrry seriously, and had her outfits specially sourced by a stylist. “One happy hippy!” she wrote alongside another OOTD snap of her in a diamanté headpiece and sequined purple flares.

She has previously told heat, “My festival pet hate is unoriginality. My favourite festival style is to team floaty, boho, feminine styles with more structured and tailored elements, like printed shorts.”

And she took her milestone birthday equally as seriously, telling fans she’d been celebrating a whole “birthday week” with Hugo, who she married last summer. Paying tribute to him with a picture of them snogging in their sunny garden, Millie wrote, “So excited to enter the next decade with you #birthdaycountdown.”

Looks like Millie’s really upped her Insta-celebrations game. Over to you, Sam Faiers. n
