‘It’d be a shame to kill off Robert’

Robron are at breaking point

-

Look away, Robron fans, because everyone’s favourite couple are in for a bumpy ride as they continue to navigate the consequences of Robert’s hasty decision to clobber Lee over the head. Robert panics when Cain says he won’t lie to Aaron about Robert’s possible prison sentence, but Cain needn’t worry as Robert ends up confessing himself. Ryan Hawley and Danny Miller explain the impact of this bombshell on their relationship.

Do you think Aaron’s doomed? Danny:

Robert’s the love of his life. He’s been there and done so much for him, and they’ve been through so much together. When you rip that out of someone’s life, regardless of whether they’re a partner or a family member, it’s naturally going to be devastating. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how it plays out when Robert goes and Aaron has to deal with it.

Robron have been on and off so many times – do you want them to be together? D:

I personally do. It gives us more chance to do scenes together, and we have a good laugh.

Ryan: I absolutely love working with Danny. We have a great rapport. We’ve said this a million times, but I really do love working with him.

Why do you think they have been so popular? D:

I think it’s because they’re like best friends who are in a relationship. They are not always lovey-dovey, it’s like, “Do you want a pint?” and, “Give us a hug, let’s go home and get on with it…”

R: There’s something universally relatable about it.

Danny, how did you react when you heard Ryan was leaving?

I was livid. My episode count is going down, isn’t it? [Laughs] No, without blowing smoke, he’s a great actor and great to work with, so it was always

inevitable he was going to do this. It was just a case of when. And yes, I fully support him. He should get out there. I was gutted for me to lose a friend on set – I’ve lost Kelvin [Fletcher], Adam [Thomas] and now Ryan. I’m going to be the only one in that group message who’s still working. It’s gutting for me, Aaron and the show, but I wish him all the best.

How would you feel if they killed him off?

R: That’s the choice of the show. Whether you stay or choose to go, you’re at the mercy of the producers, so you can’t have any ill feeling. It is what it is. If that’s what they do, it’s what they do.

d: I personally think that it would be a shame if they killed him off. He’s a character who has been so popular over the years. Ryan has come in and done it justice. But if they happen to do it, it would be a pretty great storyline for me. Just saying! n
