‘Kim feels she’s trapped in a loveless marriage’
In an interview with her husband for this month’s Vogue Arabia, Kim Kardashian West said of her first date with Kanye, “I was like, ‘Damn, why did I waste so much time and energy? Why didn’t I do this sooner?’” But we’re told the 38-yearold has been seriously reminiscing about the early days of their relationship, as the current state of it leaves a lot to be desired.
“Kim suspects the flame is dying, and she’ worried she will never get it back,” an insider tells heat. “She misses the years before they got together, when Kanye pursued her
aggressively and made it clear as day that she was his dream girl. And once he finally landed her, he treated her like an absolute princess, which is all she’s ever wanted in life. When she married him, he worshipped the ground she walked on, and he was the world’s most in-demand rapper. And now things have gone south in a big way.”
The pair were pictured on a date night last week – with Kim uncharacteristically dressed down, with no make-up – looking more strained than usual, and our source reveals that the couple have drifted apart this summer.
“They still get together for obligatory PR photos, but anyone around them will tell you they’ve got very little to say to each other, and it’s hard to detect any kind of spark between them, romantically. Kanye’s stopped showering her with attention and gifts, and seems to see her as no more than the mother of his children. Not to mention his reputation has slipped a lot in terms of him being the big-shot performer he once was. Kim feels like she’s trapped in a loveless marriage, which is not something she’s ever envisioned as her future.”
The pair – who have been married since 2014 – have four children together: North, six, Saint, three, 19-month-old Chicago, and threemonth-old Psalm. And family life seems to be taking its toll on Kim. “She’s super-busy with her beauty and fashion businesses and her law degree,” we’re told. “Kim and Kanye sleep in separate rooms and spend little-to-zero time together, in terms of physical fun. She has to admit she finds him less physically attractive. She’s turned off by the fact he doesn’t seem to care about himself at all any more. The growing talk is that this has become much more of an arrangement than a loving marriage, and they’re not going out of their way to make each other feel otherwise.” n
