AMARE BEACH CLUB, IBIZA

-

Wafting into the whitewashed reception of the Amare, you instantly feel yourself de-stress. Filled with quirky artwork and delicious scents, it’s perfectly located to be close enough to all the action of tourist hotspot San Antonio – but, hidden just beyond San Antonio Bay, it delivers a chilled-out ambience, perfectly capturing the ying and yang of this magical island. Whether you’re seeking the party scene or just want to soak up some sunshine and good vibes, it ticks every box. The hotel has all the luxury facilities you would expect, including a beautiful spa, fitness classes that take place on the beach, and a gym with views breathtaking enough to convince you to drag yourself from your sunbed to the treadmill.

During our stay, we took a boat trip direct from the jetty outside the hotel with Take Off Ibiza (Takeoffibiza.com), where we explored the hidden coves and nearby celebrity mansions – as Meghan and Harry were on the island during our stay, we were eager to seek out their hidden hideaway. A similar tour would cost around ¤60 per person.

Food & drink

Without needing to cater for kids, the food options at the buffet-style restaurant are a cut above. There’s an extensive array of starters, salads and hot meals, and you can choose your own steak or salmon to be cooked on the grill while you wait. But save some room for pudding, as the selection of miniature desserts and pastries is next-level. For a dinner with a difference, we would recommend heading to Michelinstarred rooftop eaterie Hayaca, where you can enjoy Latin American-inspired regional dishes. Sipping on a glass of rosé while you watch a legendary Ibiza sunset is a memory that will stay with you forever. And you’d be bonkers not to work your way through their epic cocktail menu, too, which is not only delicious (the piña colada was the best we’ve ever tasted), the drinks also come in the most OTT glasses imaginable.

Room

The rooms are light and spacious with killer views of the sea, which you can savour from a wicker hanging chair. You can also opt for access to The One, a VIP lounge serving complimentary snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Entertainment

There are three different pools to choose from at Amare – including a rooftop infinity pool, which is goals for the ’Gram – and, as you relax on your luxury lounger, the music is tailored to match the vibe of the day. Saturday afternoon saw the DJ accompanied by a live electronic violinist, while on Sunday we drifted off to the sound of a singer with an acoustic guitar. At night the action shifts to the rooftop, with everything from live DJS with saxophonists to fire dancers – and not a kids’ club in sight. Nightly rates start from ¤140 for a standard double room, including breakfast (Amarehotels.com)
