OLIVIA ATWOOD TALKS TOWIE
The new TOWIE star talks booze and feuds
You’d think the TOWIE lot were impervious to drama… but then Olivia Attwood joined the cast. Yes, in no time at all, the former Love Islander has upped the dramz to never-before-seen levels – culminating in a Marbella showdown (and an off-screen olive fight) with Courtney Green, after the latter called her “trashy”. Taking a break from filming, Liv, 28, tells us why she’s not afraid to stir up some trouble, especially after a few Proseccos. Did you expect TOWIE to be so dramatic? I think it had less drama until I turned up! I guess it needed some fresh blood. Brad [Dack, Liv’s footballer boyfriend] always tells me that I use this as an excuse, but I feel like trouble follows me. He laughs when he sees people calling me crazy – he’s like, “You haven’t seen anything…” Did you plan to ruffle some feathers? Well, I’d never go into a show and just sit in the background. What’s the point? I kind of expected some people to be a bit hostile, but the people who are happy for me to be there are the people who are comfortable in themselves and their positions in the show. Do you worry about boozing on camera? Obviously, I’m not going to walk around pissed all the time, but when people say that I’m drunk on screen, I don’t care. The thing about me is, I can go out until the sun comes up, but I’m literally drunk after one glass of wine. When I’m filming, nine times out of ten, I’m slurring my words. You confessed to throwing olives at Courtney… I think they just need to keep all the nibbles away from me ! Obviously, there was silly behaviour all around, she was aggressive and antagonizing. But I’m a bit too old to behave like that, I know. I quite like the “trashy” thing now, and I’ve been offered ridiculous collab offers to do with that word. She said it to insult me, but she’s actually helped me make more money. Anyway, I’d rather be trashy than boring. n
