The perfect film for running enthusiasts – and those up for a good old laugh – Brittany Runs A Marathon charts how Brittany Forgler (Jillian Bell) goes from all-night party gal to New York Marathon runner as she takes control of her life in this brilliant, feel-good comedy.

Based on a true story, 27-yearold Brittany’s hedonistic lifestyle is catching up with her. Always busy out socialising, drinking through the night and constantly on the hunt for a permanent job, she feels like everyone’s life is going places except hers. When she heads to the doctor, he tells her she needs to get fit and healthy – and challenges her to try and lose 55lbs.

Too poor to afford her local gym membership and too embarrassed to ask anyone for help, Brittany laces up her trainers and attempts her first run. After successfully running one block, she runs again. Then, in steps neighbour Catherine (Michaela Watkins), who suggests Brittany runs in a group with her and equally struggling runner Seth (Micah Stock), and soon, Brittany is running further and forming bonds with new people.

In this bid to take responsibility for herself and her future, things start to turn around and she decides on her ultimate goal: to run the New York City Marathon. But can she do it?
