Friends are worried about Miley’s rebound
Back off, haters – she’s just a hopeless romantic
We always thought that Katie Price was the queen of rebounds, but Miley Cyrus is giving her a serious run for her money. In a matter of months, the pop star has split from husband Liam Hemsworth, shacked up (then broken up) with Kaitlynn Carter – and she’s now dating singer Cody Simpson, who’s she’s known for several years. But while Miley’s publicly lashed out at those “slut-shaming” her, insiders say her friends are worried that party-animal Cody is a bad influence on the star.
“Miley’s been on a selfdestructve path before and it’s not pretty,” an insider close to the 26 year old tells heat. “She’s fragile right now – trying to keep up with Cody is the last thing she needs to be doing. This is a guy who loves to go hard all night long and he’s famous for his wild parties. But, however much fun she’s having, a lot of her friends worry that she’s out of her depth and headed for a major fall.”
The pop star hasn’t wasted time in gushing about Cody, 22, on social media – and giving a two-fingered salute to sceptics who have criticised her for moving on so quickly from Liam to Kaitlynn, and then Cody. “Men (especially successful ones) are R ARELY slut shamed,” she told her followers last week. “I am trying to just THRIVE /survive in a ‘man’s’ world… If our president can ‘grab em by the pussy’, can’t I just have a kiss and acai bowl?” She added, “Get used to me dating – this is where I am at!”
But despite her defiance, we’re told Miley’s friends are still concerned about the, “Effect that her relationship with Cody will have on her body, as well as her mental state.” And their fears only worsened last week, after the singer told fans she was rushed to hospital with tonsillitis. Still, Miley remained defiant – and wrote that she was the “luckiest” next to a photo of her new beau. She also joked, “Mum… there’s been a change of plans,” under a poster saying, “Mum… I’m gay.”
