We’re not saying she’s someone who enjoys the spotlight, but Sheridan Smith does know how to get our attention when she wants to. While onstage during a Musical Theatre cruise, the 38 year old announced to the crowd, “I’ve got a baby on board,” and added, “I’ve got buckets in each wing and trainers so I can run.”
She had previously enjoyed teasing her fans with a picture of her and her fiancé’s VIP passes for the ship, by simply writing, “About to set sail for 4 days, wish me luck with my morning sickness.” With no further explanation, fans took her mention of “morning sickness” to mean that the singer and actress was announcing her pregnancy, although she didn’t confirm it until a day later. The comments section was filled with well wishes and confusion, saying things like, “Thank you for sharing your wonderful news with us! Congratulations!” and, “Morning sickness? Have I missed something?”
Sheridan met her 28-year-old fiancé almost two years ago on Tinder and has previously referred to him as her “hubby”. Showing she has form for a misleading trick or two, Sheridan then clarified that they had not yet married, writing,
“Every time I call him my hubby, people presume we are married. It’s just a nickname & I’ll let you know when we decide to get married.”
However, fans have been further confused by the fact that both Jamie and Sheridan wear wedding bands. Something she justified with the explanation that, “We just do.” Glad that’s all cleared up, then. n
